About This Emulators

GEST (GameBoy Emulation SysTem) is a Windows C/C++ emulator, open source. Version 1.1.1 supports Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy games. Its graphics and sound emulation are based in part on VisualBoyAdvance code, with features designed to recreate the original handheld gaming experience. The emulator has support for save states, Game Genie cheat codes, configurable display sizes, multiple color palettes, autofire, save support with battery backup, and emulation support for the Game Boy Camera. It also supports compressed ROM files and Game Boy link emulation, but some of the peripheral functionality is not fully implemented. GEST 1.1.1 is a legacy emulator supporting older Windows systems.
