About This Emulators

iDeaS 1.0.4.0 is a Nintendo DS emulator for Windows and Linux systems. The project became known for its plugin-based architecture, dual-screen emulation, touchscreen support, OpenGL rendering, and ability to run a selection of Nintendo DS homebrew and commercial software. The historical emulator documentation says the latest version is 1.0.4.0 and the Windows archive is exactly named iDeaS_1.0.4.0-1081.zip. The emulator was developed by Lino Maglione and was meant to emulate the key parts of the Nintendo DS hardware such as the ARM7 and ARM9 CPU functionality. Historical accounts show that the emulation of its ARM7 was complete, and the emulation of its ARM9 was well advanced, but that graphics compatibility was not yet complete. iDeaS also had a plugin system, and thus functionality could be added separately, such as audio, microphone, Wi-Fi, controller input and AVI capture.
