About This Emulators

NeonDS 0.1.1 is a historic Nintendo DS emulator for Windows PCs. This project was started during the early development of the Nintendo DS emulation, when developers were still working on accurately emulating the 2D and 3D graphics hardware of the console. The 0.1.1 release is notable for its inclusion of an incomplete 3D display engine and the move of display rendering from Direct3D to OpenGL. It also brought along 2× display zoom and a number of DMA related fixes. Based on historical emulator archives, NeonDS 0.1.1 is a Windows 32-bit release that has a file size of about 1.03 MB. NeonDS is an old emulator, and should be considered a historical or experimental NDS emulation project, not a modern all-purpose Nintendo DS emulator. Its importance lies in early features introduced and its role in the development of PC-based Nintendo DS emulation.
