About This Emulators

NesterDC 3.0 is an early homebrew emulator for the Sega Dreamcast that lets you play Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games. It was one of the first Dreamcast emulation projects and helped establish the console as a classic platform for 8-bit games. The DCEmulation history archives list the version 3.0 release as June 3, 2001. Source: DCEmulation The emulator is derived from NESter, a NES emulator written by Darren Ranalli. NesterDC was originally created by Ken Friece, who was later succeeded by Takayama Fumihiko in the 3.0 days. Later releases added improvements such as better emulation speed, sound, save states, VMU support, cheat codes and multiplayer support. Don't assume that all of these later features are in 3.0.
