There is no story mode in Cruis'n USA. There are no characters, no dialogue and no cutscenes. Instead, its central concept is based on a fictional, high-speed road trip across the US. Players start by picking a vehicle and entering a race. The objective is to race through a series of American-style environments against other drivers. Each course is another leg of the journey, and you get the sense that you are travelling across the country. The game gradually takes the players through different landscapes such as cities, forests, deserts, mountains, highways, and landmarks. There is no story line.
