Power Stone 2 is a continuation of the story of the colourful fighters of the original game and their adventures. The characters are looking for powerful treasures called Power Stones, mysterious gems that can give incredible abilities. Every fighter has his own reason to want the stones. Some motivated by adventure and treasure, some by wealth, fame, power or personal achievement. The basic premise is that of a mythical treasure which bestows great power upon its possessors. So the fighters travel through dangerous environments and compete against each other to get the precious stones. The story is written in a light-hearted adventure tone rather than a serious dramatic story. Characters often find themselves in crazy situations with dangerous surroundings, weird machines, monsters, traps and competing treasure hunters. The adventure eventually leads the fighters toward more and more difficult fights and huge boss encounters. The players will have to use what is around them and available to survive. Power Stone 2 is like an action adventure but interactive instead of the standard fighting game where the story revolves around a tournament. Characters travel between different places where they battle enemies and collect treasures. The arcade structure of the game also helps you to replay the adventure with different characters. Each fighter has their own moves, personality and transformation so trying things out is an important part of the experience.

Power Stone 2 uses a 3D arena fighting system with multiple fighters fighting at the same time. The stages are very interactive, with players able to pick up and use objects around the environment. Tables, chairs, rocks, weapons, cars, traps, and other objects you might use during combat. It makes for a lot more unpredictable fights than traditional fighting games. Players can run around the arena, attack opponents, collect items, dodge attacks and search for Power Stones. One of the defining mechanics of the game is the Power Stone system. After a player has collected three Power Stones, they transform into a more powerful character. The fighter gains boosted abilities and potent attacks in the course of transformation. This leads to a race between players to get hold of the stones before their opponents do. Stages are multi-level and interactive as well. Instead of being stuck in one small arena, players may have to travel through different sections of a level as the environment changes. Some levels include moving platforms, vehicles, traps, environmental hazards and other surprises. Players need to react fast to changing conditions. Up to four players can join in, making for some extremely chaotic and entertaining multiplayer battles. The single player adventure also features battles with computer controlled opponents and large bosses. These encounters force players to use the environment instead of just basic attacks. Power Stone 2 also adds a time challenge after rounds, plus other innovations compared to its predecessor.

First, you pick one of the fighters available to you. Learn the basic attacks, movement, special techniques and transformation abilities of your characters. When the match starts, look around the arena for useful objects and Power Stones. Collect Power Stones as much as you can. With three stones your character can change and become a lot more powerful. Don’t ONLY focus on attacking opponents. The environment is filled with many useful objects that can help you deal damage or escape dangerous situations. If you see weapons lying around, pick them up and throw at enemies whenever you can. Timing environmental objects correctly can give you an advantage. Keep moving, because if you stand still you’re an easy target. Observe the other players and look for times when they are collecting Power Stones. If they do not grab their third stone they will be thwarted in their chances of transforming. Use your stronger attacks wisely when you transform and try to take out opponents before your transformation ends. Understand how the stages work. Some environments have moving platforms, vehicles, traps and shifting layouts. In four-player matches, watch all opponents, not just one fighter. You are open to attack from any direction. In boss fights, learn the boss's attack patterns and look for objects in the environment to use to deal extra damage. Experiment with different characters and find a fighter that has the speed, attacks and abilities that fit the way you like to play.
