Croc 2 |ROM-DOWNLOAD Story

Croc 2 for Game Boy Color is the sequel to Croc, with Croc going on another adventure after the first game. While visiting his Gobbo friends, Croc finds a message in a bottle with an important message from his long lost family. Croc discovers that his parents may still be looking for him, and sets off on a journey across faraway lands to find them. Croc travels through 4 different Gobbo villages. Sailor Village, Cossack Village, Caveman Village and Inca Village. Each village has its own look, characters, challenges, puzzles and quests. The PlayStation and Windows versions feature a fully 3D presentation, while the Game Boy Color version is presented from a top-down perspective with 2D sprite graphics. Croc is searching for his family, but trouble is brewing. Baron Dante's back, and his Dantinis are causing trouble all over the land. Gobbos are kidnaped, important objects are stolen, and Croc must help the villagers while continuing his own search. The adventure begins in Sailor Village where Croc learns the basics of the game, and begins helping out the local Gobbos. The missions involve rescuing characters, recovering stolen objects, finding important items or solving environmental puzzles. When enough missions are done, Croc moves to Cossack Village. This area offers colder environments and different challenges. But Croc still has to help the Gobbos, by gathering crystals and finding the Golden Gobbos hidden in the levels. The journey continues then to Caveman Village where Croc has to overcome more puzzles and obstacles. Sometimes Croc has to push objects, flip switches, use special items or find a specific way through the level. Finally Croc arrives at Inca Village and the story starts to wrap up. Baron Dante's actions become more important and Croc must overcome the final obstacles before facing the villain. The Game Boy Color version also offers an additional incentive for players who want to complete the adventure. Colored crystals and a Golden Gobbo area are found on each level. Collect the required crystals, and then Croc can access special areas with Golden Gobbos. Achieving these goals will eventually open up extra content, and help toward the better ending of the game. Ultimately, Croc’s main story is a combination of his search to find his parents and his responsibility to help the Gobbos and stop Baron Dante. If Croc can collect the required Golden Gobbos and defeat Baron Dante, the story can reach its more complete ending, including a reunion with his mom.

Croc 2 |ROM-DOWNLOAD Gameplay

Croc 2 (Game Boy Color) Croc 2 is an action-platforming game for the Game Boy Color. The original PlayStation and Windows versions feature polygonal 3D environments; the GBC version features 2D sprite graphics and has a top-down adventure-style presentation. The game still contains a lot of recognizable elements from the bigger Croc series, like Croc’s tail attack, jumping, stomping, collectibles, Gobbos, Dantinis, puzzles and village-based progression. The player guides Croc through four different villages. Every village has multiple stages with different targets. The missions are not simply about reaching the end of a level. Croc might need to save a Gobbo, retrieve stolen treasure, deliver an item, locate a missing character, solve a puzzle, or perform some other specific task. The movement is controlled by the Game Boy Color D-Pad. Croc can roam the environment and use his jumping ability to cross over obstacles. If Croc presses the jump button again while jumping, he can jump again, which gives him more movement options while traversing tricky areas. The GameFAQs GBC guide specifically mentions spinning attacks, running, the double-jump, and jumping as critical to the early gameplay. Croc's main offensive skill is his spinning tail attack. This attack can be used for Dantinis and other enemies that show up throughout the adventure. Stomping can also be used to interact with some environmental objects, and to solve puzzles. Solving puzzles is a huge part of the game. In some of the stages Croc pushes big boxes into certain locations, flips switches, changes symbols, opens doors or fiddles with things in the environment. For instance, one of the first puzzles in Sailor Village asks the player to arrange symbols in the right order to unlock a path to treasure. Crystals are yet another important component of the gameplay. Players can obtain normal and colored crystals while exploring levels. You can also use crystals as currency to buy helpful items from Swap Meet Pete’s shop. Special Items such as Heart Pots and other equipment can aid Croc to progress or access areas otherwise unreachable. There is also a Golden Gobbo in every regular level. Croc heads to the Golden Gobbo area to get the colored crystals needed. If you find all of the Golden Gobbos in a village, you will unlock a special Golden Gobbo level containing a Jigsaw Piece. These items are an optional challenge for players that want more than just completing the main objectives.

How to Play Croc 2 |ROM-DOWNLOAD

Start Croc 2 and choose 'new game' from the main menu. Croc's adventure begins in Sailor Village, where you can learn the basic controls and explore the area before entering the first stage. You use the D-Pad to navigate Croc around the village and levels. Be aware of your environment, some objects can be pushed or interacted with. Speak to Gobbos whenever possible, they may provide you with objectives, clues or helpful information. button = jump. Jumping is one of the most important skills in the game, allowing Croc to jump over gaps, to reach platforms, to avoid enemies and to activate some elements of the puzzles. Pressing A again while in the air gives you another jump. Spin attack: Press B to spin Croc's tail. It's good for beating Dantinis, as well as killing enemies blocking your way. The attack can also help in some environmental interactions. When you encounter a puzzle, look around the area before you start moving objects at random. Many puzzles require you to place boxes, switches, symbols or other objects somewhere. Collect crystals as you progress through each stage. Normal crystals add to your resources, but the colored crystals are especially important, because collecting all the required colored crystals will unlock the Golden Gobbo section. Search for hearts and other helpful items. Some enemies and objects can give Croc health-related bonuses, and items bought from Swap Meet Pete can increase Croc's survivability or give him access to special areas. In every village there are many missions. Complete enough of them to unlock the next section of the adventure. There are four main areas, Sailor Village, Cossack Village, Caveman Village and Inca Village. If you want to complete the game normally, then focus on the main objectives given to you by the Gobbos. Take some extra time to search each level for all the colored crystals and Golden Gobbos to get a more complete ending.
