When the story begins, Ryu Hayabusa gets a mysterious letter from his father, Ken Hayabusa. The letter is to tell Ryu that his father is preparing for a deadly duel and may not survive it. Ryu, concerned by his father's warning, decides to go to America to find out what happened. When Ryu gets to America he learns that his father has apparently been killed. Before he can find out the truth behind Ken’s death, Ryu is abducted and spirited away by mysterious agents. Ryu eventually escapes and begins investigating the events surrounding his father's disappearance. During his investigation he encounters a mysterious woman named Irene Lew who becomes an important part of the journey. Soon Ryu discovers his father’s death is linked to a much bigger conspiracy. Old powers and dangerous men seek mysterious demonic powers for their own ends. As his journey continues Ryu travels through different parts of America fighting numerous enemies. Enemies include armed soldiers, ninjas, creatures and supernatural foes. Ryu’s investigation leads him to a mysterious archaeological site where he finds ancient artefacts. These artefacts are connected to an ancient evil that can cause destruction. As Ryu learns that the powers behind the conspiracy are trying to bring back an ancient demon, the story grows more deadly. Ryu must battle through heavily guarded areas and defeat powerful enemies to stop the demon from being awakened. Along the way, Ryu learns more about his father, and the role Ken played in protecting the world from the ancient evil. Ryu’s travels take him through temples and other hazardous places, cities, forests and mountains. Each area has different enemies and harder challenges. Ryu’s relationship with Irene also becomes an important part of the story. She helps him to see the conspiracy and gives him information that allows him to go on with his mission. As Ryu gets closer to the truth, he discovers that the villains are not simply interested in killing him. They need Ryu, because of his link to the Hayabusa clan and their ancient knowledge. The Hayabusa clan has a long history of guarding powerful secrets, and Ryu must prevent those secrets from being used to destroy the world. Eventually Ryu finds the places where the final parts of the conspiracy are taking place. Before arriving at the final fight, he has to battle strong enemies and clear difficult platforming sections. The end of the adventure is a series of extremely difficult battles. If Ryu is to survive, he must survive with his sword, special weapons, movement skills and knowledge of enemy patterns. The aim is to prevent the ancient evil from fully waking up and to stop the people behind the conspiracy. Ryu eventually confronts the final enemies responsible for the events surrounding his father's death. The fights take his ninja skills to the max. Ryu completes his mission, having defeated the final enemy and stopped the demonic threat. The story ends with Ryu learning the truth behind his father's death and preventing the ancient evil from bringing destruction. Ninja Gaiden’s story is notable for its cinematic flair. Rather than simply progressing from one stage to another, players are provided with story sequences between stages that introduce new characters, locations, mysteries, and plot developments. This was an unusual presentation for a NES action game of its time, and helped make Ninja Gaiden one of the more story-oriented action games on the platform

Ninja Gaiden is a fast-paced side scrolling action game. The player controls Ryu Hayabusa as he advances through a series of stages filled with enemies, obstacles, traps and bosses. The sword is his main weapon. Players can attack enemies while standing, jumping or climbing on certain surfaces. Ryu also has special weapons that have different attacks. These weapons consume Ninja Power, so players need to pay attention to their resource management. The game has a very movement and timing based system. The enemies can attack quickly and poorly timed jumps can send Ryu into pits or lose health. Ryu can wall climb and use his mobility to reach hard to reach places. Each stage has different enemies and environmental hazards. Players must learn the enemy locations and movement patterns to progress effectively. Boss battles are located at the end of the stages. Every boss has a different attack pattern and players will have to discover the correct strategy to beat them. The game is known for its punishing difficulty. To finish the adventure players will need good timing, quick reactions, and knowledge of the stages.

Start game and play as Ryu Hayabusa. Use the directional controls to go through each stage. Press the attack button and Ryu can attack enemies with his sword . Jump over obstacles, avoid pits. Utilise Ryu’s wall-jumping skills to access hard-to-reach spots. Collect special weapons as they appear. These weapons are capable of stronger attacks or attacks at longer ranges. Watch your Ninja Power as special weapons drain it. Health items appear - grab them to heal Ryu. Learn the movement patterns of enemies before attacking. Prepare for boss battles at the end of stages. Look for the boss's attack patterns and strike when you see an opening. Continue playing through the storyline and play through the cinematic sequences to learn more about the mission of Ryu. Defeat the final enemies and finish Ryu's jour
