The adventure starts when Montana Max steals and hides away a valuable treasure. Buster Bunny needs to find the treasure and stop Montana Max, while trying to save his friends. Buster travels through an island full of deadly enemies, traps, secret passages and weird environments. Along the way he encounters various characters from the Tiny Toon Adventures universe. One of the biggest threats is Dr. Gene Splicer, who has brainwashed some of Buster's friends. Among Buster's obstacles are characters including Plucky Duck, Hamton J. Pig, Dizzy Devil and Calamity Coyote. Buster has to defeat the enemies that control his friends and move on toward the hidden treasure. Gogo Dodo also plays a huge part in helping Buster to get from place to place. Buster goes through forests, caves, underwater, lava filled areas, a pirate ship, icy mountains and finally the factory of Montana Max. During the adventure, Buster can find secret bonus portals that take him to Wackyland where he can collect more items and power-ups. The last part of the adventure takes place in the factory of Montana Max, where Buster has to overcome mechanical hazards, enemies, traps and difficult platforming sections before facing the villains and rescuing his friends.

Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure is a side-scrolling 2D platformer that emphasises movement (including jumping, dodging foes, exploring, and collecting items). The player guides Buster Bunny through a series of colourful stages. Buster can run and jump between platforms, dodge obstacles, defeat enemies and look for secret areas. Levels are made up of different types of challenges. Some areas are just basic platforming and others require precise timing to avoid spikes, falling objects, enemies, lava and other hazards. Buster has a whole host of funny ways to interact with the environment. Sometimes when Buster touches certain objects, he reacts in a cartoon-like fashion. The game uses animated details to capture the personality of the TV show. The game also features special helper characters. Some collectible icons allow Buster to call a friend to help clear out enemies or help out in hard parts. Bonus portals can take Buster to Wackyland, where players can collect more items and extra lives. These bonus areas are an incentive to explore levels, not just rush toward the exit. The game progression on the map is another important feature. As players clear stages, new paths open up and the overall adventure slowly opens up. The game can be challenging, with many levels featuring instant death hazards and well-placed traps. Good timing and awareness are needed to make good progress.

Start the game and play as Buster Bunny. You will need to explore the different zones, complete stages, kill or dodge enemies and eventually find the secret treasure and save Buster's friends. Use the directional controls to move Buster around each level. Run across platforms and jump over obstacles, enemies, gaps and traps. Some platforms and hazards need to be navigated precisely so time your jumps carefully. Explore the stages, don't always walk straight to the exit. Hidden areas may have useful items, bonus portals, extra lives and other rewards. Look out for special icons that enable Buster to summon help characters. These helpers are especially useful when there are a number of enemies on the screen. Find a portal in Wackyland and step through that to access a bonus stage. These zones offer chances to pick up additional objects and power-ups. Beware of environmental hazards. Spikes, lava, pits, enemies and moving obstacles can quickly cost Buster his life. As you move across the map, new locations and paths will open up. Finish the stages until you reach the later territories. The final areas get more difficult and introduce more complex platforming challenges. Study the movement patterns of obstacles, take your time and use available power-ups when needed. Keep on through all the territories until Buster makes his way to Montana Max's factory and finishes the last leg of his treasure hunt.
