Story

Pokémon Black Version 2 is set two years after Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version. Unova has changed quite a lot in those two years and there are new places in the region. The player starts the adventure in a new starting location, Aspertia City. Instead of starting from the same place as the original Black and White games, the sequel provides players with a new path into the Unova adventure. The player receives a starter Pokémon and shortly after encounters Hugh, a rival whose personal motivations are deeply intertwined with Team Plasma. Another storyline that runs parallel to the player’s journey to becoming Champion is Hugh’s determination. Team Plasma is also different. Following the events of the original games, the organization has split into different groups. Some members try to carry on their previous goals, other members reject the organization’s actions. Another important character is Colress, a scientist connected to Team Plasma who studies the relationship between Pokémon and their potential. His research becomes increasingly important throughout the story. The legendary Pokémon Kyurem becomes central to the sequel's main conflict. Team Plasma’s plans eventually revolve around Kyurem and the powerful fusion forms White Kyurem and Black Kyurem.

Gameplay

The core gameplay still revolves around catching Pokémon, building a team, exploring routes, battling trainers, collecting Gym Badges, and making your way to the Pokémon League. But Black Version 2 expands on the original Unova experience in a big way. Players will discover new places, alternate routes, altered cities, more Pokémon at the start of the journey, and a host of new side activities. The game still has turn-based battles, but there are plenty of opportunities outside of the traditional Gym-and-League progression. Players can visit Pokéstar Studios to make Pokémon movies, explore Join Avenue, look for Hidden Grottoes and compete in the Pokémon World Tournament. One of the highlights of the game is arguably the Pokémon World Tournament, which allows players to face off against strong Trainers from across the Pokémon franchise.
