Neku Sakuraba finds himself in Shibuya, with no memory of how he got there. He soon learns that he’s been pulled into the mysterious Reapers’ Game where players must complete dangerous missions to be able to survive. Along the way Neku also makes partnerships with other players, and slowly learns the secrets behind the Game. The story unfolds and he learns more about himself, those around him and the strange world he has entered.

The World Ends With You is a blend of action RPG combat, exploration and touch screen controls. Players explore various parts of Shibuya, take on missions, talk to characters and fight Noise enemies. Neku can use collectable Pins to perform different attacks and abilities through the Nintendo DS touchscreen. His partner battles on the top screen, so players can have two characters in combat at once.

Explore Shibuya, complete daily missions, interact with characters, and battle Noise enemies using the Nintendo DS touchscreen. Equip different Pins to give Neku various abilities and coordinate with his partner during dual-screen battles. Collect experience, money, equipment, and new Pins while progressing through the story.
