The story opens with an immense army of robotic pirates attacking the peaceful Glade of Dreams. Admiral Razorbeard leads the invasion, intent on conquering the world and enslaving its people. The pieces are tied to the legendary Power and must be recovered. He begins his journey and meets some allies that help explain the situation to him and give him direction to his objectives. He must go through various areas saving his friends that have been captured and picking up vital objects. Ly is a magical fairy and one of Rayman's most important allies. She helps him get his abilities back and gives him information throughout the adventure. The game’s main villain, Admiral Razorbeard, is based in heavily guarded pirate facilities. His army consists of many robotic enemies that try to prevent Rayman from moving on. As Rayman progresses deeper into the world, he can gain new abilities that will help him reach places he couldn't before. These abilities also make him stronger against the growing threat of the pirates. The adventure eventually brings Rayman to Razorbeard's stronghold where he must face powerful enemies and overcome several difficult challenges. The story contains elements of fantasy, humour, action and exploration. The game's central conflict is the invasion and destruction of Rayman's world, but its colourful characters and imaginative environments create a light-hearted adventure atmosphere.
